It is important to note that since 2013, non-EU citizens can obtain a temporary residence permit by buying a property worth more than €500,000.
Another key requirement is to have a bank account in Spain. Therefore, once you have obtained the NIE, you will need to open a bank account in Mallorca to handle the property purchase.
